SCENIC CHARGE / DEPARTMENT LEAD
Responsibilities and Basic Technical Knowledge:
Ability to comfortably switch between woodworking, sculpture, metal fabrication, finishing, vinyling, and various materials in a single project
Ability to work with traditional scenic treatments of hard and soft goods.
Knowledge of both theatrical as well as commercial finish levels.
Ability to use HVLP, aerosol, and high finish spray techniques, as well as standard vinyl application.
Willingness to carry out an entire scenic process through to fruition, including prep, package, and cleanup of finishing elements.
Flexible in working hours to work installs when required
Strong attention to detail as well as time management
Self-motivated with ability to work autonomously as well as in a group
Works well with fellow teammates and enjoys a collaborative environment
Ability to adapt to ever shifting projects and eagerness to create, problem solve, and investigate new techniques as each project requires.
Knowledge of fire and flame proofing certifications
Ability to take direction and follow an established process for each project
Shop maintenance and daily upkeep
Time management, reliability, and a good attitude is a must
Prop craft knowledge a definite plus!
Ability to lift 50 lbs
BFA + 2 years working experience in fabrication studios or 5+ years experience in fabrication studios.
This is position has an hourly rate of $30-33/hr negotiable based on experience. Company benefits after 90 day trial period.
