Prop & Set Carpenters / overhire
Responsibilities and Basic Technical Knowledge:
Ability to comfortably work with a variety of crafting techniques including scenic painting, prop and set decoration, vinyling, sewing, with various materials in a single project.
Assist in the painting, surface prep, and finishing of scenic elements, including props, set pieces, and set decor.
Execute specialty tasks such as vinyling, upholstering, and sewing, as required by the specific needs of each project.
Work collaboratively with the scenic team to ensure high-quality craftsmanship and attention to detail in all aspects of the build.
Follow project timelines and complete tasks efficiently while maintaining safety standards and cleanliness in the workspace.
Adapt to various production schedules and deadlines, offering flexible support based on project needs.
Communicate effectively with the Scenic Department Head to ensure all tasks are understood and executed to meet production requirements.
Proven experience in one or more of the following craft specialties: scenic painting, prop and set dressing, vinyling, sewing, or similar disciplines.
Flexible in working hours to work installs and strikes when required
Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship with a dedication to achieving high-quality finishes.
Experience in a theater, event production, or fabrication setting is preferred but not required.
Time management, reliability, and a good attitude is a must.
Ability to lift 50 lbs
These are project-based, temporary positions, with flexible hours based on project requirements, with an hourly rate of $27-32/hr negotiable based on experience. Must be available to work on weekdays, weekends, and evenings depending on production schedules.
